Job summary

AES Corporation seeks a Senior Preconstruction Project Manager to lead early-stage development through execution readiness for utility-scale renewable energy projects. You’ll coordinate with Development, Engineering, Estimating, Procurement, Construction, Finance and EPC contractors to set scope, cost, schedule, procurement, and risk strategies.

You will influence investment decisions, align cross-functional teams, and ensure a smooth handoff from development to construction.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or related field.
Significant experience in renewable energy project development, preconstruction, estimating, engineering, procurement, construction or PM.
Understanding of utility-scale lifecycle: feasibility, permitting, interconnection, procurement, EPC contracting, construction.

Responsibilities

Lead preconstruction engagement and align scope, schedule, deliverables, risks and strategy.
Develop integrated development and construction schedules with design, utility, permitting and equipment milestones.
Validate capital cost assumptions and reconcile EPC pricing with internal estimates.
Develop and maintain schedules and provide executive-level reporting on milestones and dependencies.
Support due diligence, opportunity assessments, and risk memoranda for potential projects.
