Job summary

AES Corporation seeks a Senior Preconstruction Project Manager to lead preconstruction activities for utility-scale renewable energy projects from development through readiness and EPC agreement completion.

This highly visible role collaborates across Development, Engineering, Estimating, Procurement, Construction, Finance, and external EPC contractors to establish executable scope, cost, schedule, procurement, and risk strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, PM, or related field.
• Significant experience in renewable energy project development, preconstruction, estimating, EPC, or PM.
• Understanding of utility-scale project lifecycle: feasibility, permitting, interconnection, EPC, construction.

Responsibilities

• Lead preconstruction engagement and align scope, schedule, risks, and strategy.
• Assess maturity across permitting, entitlements, site control, interconnection, design, and logistics.
• Identify risks/opportunities and propose cross-functional mitigation and recommendations.
• Provide executive-ready tracking on milestones, priorities, workload, dependencies.
• Support due diligence and red-flag memos for potential projects/acquisitions.
• Drive standardization and continuous improvement across preconstruction and bidding.
