Layton Construction in Nashville, TN seeks a Senior Pre-Construction Manager to lead the SBU's pre-construction activities and champion The Layton Way, Constructing with Integrity. This senior role directs estimating, planning support, budgeting, and cost history communication to drive accurate pricing.

The candidate will oversee preconstruction teams, collaborate with marketing and clients to identify profitable opportunities and ensure successful project delivery across the portfolio.

Qualifications

• BS in Construction Management, Marketing and/or Communication or related field.
• Experience leading large projects ($500M+), ideally in mission critical, healthcare, or industrial sectors.
• 15+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience managing preconstruction teams.
• Ability to read and interpret general business and technical documents.

Responsibilities

• Champion The Layton Way and Constructing with Integrity by promoting honesty, unity, safety and quality.
• Provide leadership for estimating and planning support personnel.
• Monitor budgeting and buy-out processes to ensure reliable information for estimates.
• Facilitate cost history communication for better cost modeling and estimating.
• Interface with marketing to consider information and brand recognition.
• Oversee sales activities including leads, procurement strategies, proposals, RFQs, SOQs and RFPs.
• Plan and implement training for SBU estimators, planning support and project engineers.
• Identify and procure profitable projects and maintain client relationships.
• Supervise estimating and business development activities and personnel.
