Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead large, complex projects and guide project teams. You may supervise other PMs, ensuring performance against contract documents and exceeding owner expectations.

You will act as a leader for project teams in various instances. Based in the Nashville area, you will own project costs and profits, participate in pre-construction planning, negotiate subcontracts, and drive project schedules to successful completion with a focus on safety,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field.
• Minimum 8+ years project management experience.
• 3+ years Healthcare Construction project experience.
• Strong ability to manage complex projects.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of estimating concepts and contract language.
• Knowledge of building codes and design requirements.
• Integrity and ethics in project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead project teams, providing guidance on management techniques and adherence to plans and company policy.
• Directly manage project costs and profitability for each assigned project.
• Assist in preparing estimates and negotiating prime contracts.
• Lead the Project Management Plan (PMP) preparation and value engineering when appropriate.
• Organize pre-construction planning and pre-mobil meetings.
• Negotiate subcontracts, obtain permits, and resolve regulatory requirements.
• Develop and monitor project schedules and milestones with the Superintendent.
