Job summary

ArchKey Solutions is seeking a Preconstruction Manager based in our San Jose, CA office to lead preconstruction activities on large-volume commercial projects.

You will develop preliminary budgets, oversee estimating, value engineering, and subcontractor prequalification, while guiding a team to deliver accurate bids and meet client expectations. This role requires strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills, with experience in Accubid and electrical construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in engineering, construction management, building construction or related field.
• 3–5 years of electrical construction estimating experience on large commercial projects.
• Preferably 1–2 years of hands-on project management.
• Experience with computerized estimating systems and Accubid software; strong technical understanding of electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage bid package scopes and subcontractor bidding processes.
• Develop preliminary budgets, value engineering, and cost estimates.
• Direct the estimating process and ensure accuracy.
• Carry out procurement planning and prequalification of subcontractors.
• Build relationships with general contractors and clients.
