Job summary

ArchKey Solutions is seeking a Senior Electrical Estimator to support preconstruction services, prepare estimates, review bids, and mentor junior estimators. You will work with project teams to ensure accurate cost analyses and effective bid processes.

The role involves collaborating with design/build teams, procurement, and client management while applying extensive knowledge of electrical codes and industry practices. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent work experience in construction management or a related field.
• Minimum 5-8 years of electrical construction experience in estimating, common code requirements, and design/build estimating.
• Experience using Accubid or similar estimating software. Experience with field installation or similar work.
• Skills to read, interpret and understand electrical contracts, plans, drawings, blueprints, and specifications. Must have extensive knowledge of electrical codes. Excellent conceptual estimating and critical thinking skills. Demonstrated strong analytical and mathematical skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including high quality documentation and report preparation. Strong telephone communication and client communication skills.
• Strong leadership, independent problem‑solving skills, detail orientation, time management and customer service skills. Strong coaching, training, and mentoring skills.
• In‑depth skills and experience in project management. Thorough understanding of the project life cycle.

Responsibilities

• Plans and coordinates the activities of each assigned project for quality and accuracy of work, including estimates, scheduling tasks, and bid development.
• Secures and reviews quotes from subcontractors, plans take-offs to optimize labor, and leads estimate review meetings.
• Collaborates with project managers, design, and purchasing to manage costs, design-build activities, and buyouts.
• Utilizes estimating software to prepare accurate estimates; ensures RFPs meet client and company requirements.
• Stays updated on electrical codes, technologies, and practices; surveys job sites for scope and cost efficiency.
• Coaches and mentors other estimators and co‑workers on large projects.
