Job summary

Thomas Talent Network, LLC is seeking a Senior Preconstruction Manager to strengthen estimating and planning capabilities and set projects up for success from day one. This role leads preconstruction efforts from pursuit to transition, building trusted relationships with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.

You will oversee estimating, budgeting, value engineering, and design-phase collaboration, while ensuring a clear path to execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
• 5+ years of experience in commercial construction preconstruction, estimating, or project management.
• Proficiency with estimating software and tools such as Timberline, On-Screen Takeoff, PlanSwift, Bluebeam or similar.
• Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills with owners, design teams, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead preconstruction activities, establishing processes and standards for estimating, budgeting, and project planning.
• Serve as a trusted advisor on project feasibility, market conditions, and risk during pursuit.
• Develop and maintain preconstruction schedules from pursuit through award.
• Mentor a preconstruction team as workload grows.
• Oversee estimating, budgeting, bid management, value engineering, and design-phase collaboration.
• Handoff awarded projects to field and project management with complete budget and scope.
