Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Senior Preconstruction Project Manager to oversee construction projects from notice of award through mobilization. The role supports hybrid work with in-office presence in San Diego, CA or Denver, CO, with details discussed in interviews.

Responsibilities include budgeting, subcontract negotiation, schedule maintenance, and QA/QC collaboration, while leading project teams and coordinating with owners and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Engineering or Construction Management degree or equivalent experience.
• Leadership ability and supervisory skills.
• Strong problem-solving and urgency.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Drafting and computer skills.
• Basic knowledge of contract law and project accounting.
• Thorough understanding of scheduling, cost control, procurement, and estimating.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple or large, complex projects from notice of award through mobilization.
• Estimate and establish budgets and contract price (GMP/Lump Sum).
• Negotiate subcontract and material purchases.
• Set up job procedures to ensure timely buyout, shop drawing approval and material delivery.
• Keep project on schedule and maintain timely reporting to management.
• Develop and maintain relations with Owner, Engineers and Subcontractors.
• Collaborate with Safety and QAQC teams to implement plans.
• Organize regular management and subcontractor meetings.
• Review and negotiate contract conditions for compliance.
• Supervise project team and mentor staff per company policy.
• Assist with business development and participate in interviews.
