Job summary

Suffolk seeks a Senior Preconstruction Manager to guide opportunities from RFP through buyout, coordinating with Corporate Leadership and Estimating to deliver comprehensive proposals. The role ensures alignment of cost, schedule, and constructability across internal and external stakeholders.

The position requires strong communication, tenacious problem-solving, and a track record of managing complex preconstruction processes to produce winning bids and efficient project handoffs to Operations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Construction, Engineering, or related field desired
• Minimum 10 years of experience in Construction
• Multidisciplinary experience in Preconstruction, Estimating, and Operations preferred
• Estimating and scheduling experience desired
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required
• Adept at problem-solving and conflict avoidance

Responsibilities

• Coordinate project pursuit and pre-construction deliverables with Corporate, Operations and Estimating teams
• Review project documentation for quality, constructability, and content
• Identify required deliverables and assign to internal/external stakeholders
• Manage pursuit/pre-construction timelines to ensure timely, high-quality client deliverables
• Coordinate with corporate marketing to develop proposal documents
• Manage client relationships during pursuit and pre-construction to ensure success
• Evaluate risk factors with management
• Resolve constructability issues and coordinate pricing of design concepts
• Ensure preliminary construction schedules align with estimates
• Review cost models during pre-construction and bidding
• Assist with contract documents
• Consult with Operations leadership, scheduling, estimating, legal, cost control, and procurement
• Monitor design progress for cost/schedule/quality compliance and propose resolutions
