Job summary

Barnhart is seeking a Preconstruction Manager in Memphis to lead planning and pursuit efforts for large capital projects. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, define scope and schedules, and support proposals to win work.

This role emphasizes safety, constructability, and successful handoff to project execution teams. Ideal candidates have 10+ years in industrial construction with strong communication and analytical skills and a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related

Qualifications

10+ years of experience in industrial construction, heavy lift, or large capital projects.
Leads cross-functional teams in preconstruction, estimating, project management, or business development roles.
Strong planning, budgeting, risk management, and constructability understanding.
Ability to read and interpret drawings, specs, schedules, and project documents.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead preconstruction efforts from opportunity identification through handoff.
Coordinate cross-functional teams across sales, engineering, estimating, and operations.
Define project scope, schedule, logistics, and execution requirements with stakeholders.
Develop pursuit strategies, execution plans, schedules, and budgets.
Support proposal development, pricing reviews, and client presentations.
Identify risks related to safety, schedule, logistics, labor, and equipment.
Ensure awarded projects transition to project execution teams.
