Job summary

RogueSearch is seeking a Senior Preconstruction Manager to lead planning and execution of preconstruction for complex industrial projects. You will partner with engineering, operations, procurement, and clients to develop winning strategies from concept through construction start.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related technical discipline.
  • 7–15+ years of industrial, manufacturing, EPC, or commercial construction experience.
  • Experience leading preconstruction activities on complex projects.
  • Strong understanding of industrial construction means, methods, sequencing, and constructability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all preconstruction activities from conceptual planning through project turnover.
  • Develop execution strategies, budgets, and preconstruction schedules.
  • Collaborate with owners, architects, engineers, operations, and trade partners.
  • Lead constructability reviews, value engineering, and risk assessments.
  • Coordinate project scope across major disciplines and engage subs/ suppliers.
  • Support procurement planning and subcontractor strategy.
  • Assist with proposals and client presentations.

As a Senior Preconstruction Manager, you will lead the planning and execution of preconstruction activities for complex industrial projects, partnering with engineering, operations, procurement, and clients to develop winning project strategies from concept through construction start.

Responsibilities
  • Lead all preconstruction activities from conceptual planning through project turnover to operations.
  • Develop project execution strategies, conceptual budgets, and preconstruction schedules.
  • Collaborate with owners, architects, engineers, operations, and trade partners throughout project development.
  • Lead constructability reviews, value engineering initiatives, and risk assessments.
  • Coordinate project scope across civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and process disciplines.
  • Guide subcontractor and supplier engagement throughout the preconstruction process.
  • Support procurement planning and subcontractor strategy.
  • Assist with proposal development, client presentations, and project pursuits.
  • Partner with field operations to ensure a smooth transition from preconstruction into construction.
  • Promote safety, quality, and operational excellence throughout all phases of preconstruction.
What you will do
  • Serve as the primary leader for preconstruction efforts on complex industrial and manufacturing projects.
  • Facilitate collaboration between engineering, estimating, procurement, scheduling, and construction teams.
  • Evaluate drawings and specifications to identify project risks, constructability concerns, and opportunities to improve project execution.
  • Develop conceptual and progressive budgets as project designs evolve.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary project planning across all major building systems.
  • Support business development efforts by participating in client meetings and proposal presentations.
  • Build strong working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Drive successful project planning that positions projects for efficient execution.
What you will need
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or another related technical discipline.
  • 7-15+ years of industrial, manufacturing, EPC, or commercial construction experience.
  • Experience leading preconstruction, project management, project engineering, or construction management efforts on complex projects.
  • Strong understanding of industrial construction means, methods, sequencing, and constructability.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams throughout project planning and design.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and client relationship skills.
  • Design-Build experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting conceptual budgeting and project planning.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with industrial manufacturing or advanced technology facilities.
  • Familiarity with estimating software such as WinEst, Trimble, Sage, or similar.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Procore.
  • Knowledge of procurement strategies, value engineering, and project delivery methods.
  • Understanding of CSI MasterFormat and industrial construction systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
