Job summary

Barnhart, a leader in heavy lift and industrial construction, seeks a Preconstruction Manager to steer planning and pursuit efforts for major projects across North America. You will lead cross-functional teams, shape scope and execution plans, and support competitive proposals.

Responsibilities include coordinating estimators, operations, and engineering, crafting schedules and budgets, and ensuring smooth handoffs to project teams on award. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

10+ years in industrial construction, heavy lift, rigging, or EPC projects.
Experience leading cross-functional teams in preconstruction, estimating, or business development.
Strong planning, constructability, logistics, budgeting and risk management skills.
Ability to read and interpret drawings, specs, schedules and docs.
Excellent communication and presentation abilities.

Responsibilities

Lead preconstruction efforts for large capital projects from opportunity to handoff.
Coordinate cross-functional teams including sales, engineering, PM, estimating, and operations.
Define project scope, schedule, logistics, and execution requirements with stakeholders.
Develop pursuit strategies, execution plans, schedules, and budgets.
Support proposal development, pricing reviews, and customer presentations.
Identify and communicate project risks related to safety, schedule and logistics.
