Granite Construction Company is seeking a seasoned Preconstruction Project Manager to lead all pre-award and early planning for heavy civil infrastructure projects. You will oversee estimating, design coordination, scheduling, risk management, constructability reviews, and owner engagement to drive accurate pricing and successful execution.

Requires a BS in a related field and 10 years of progressive experience in heavy civil environments, including 5 years in preconstruction or alternative

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• 10 years of progressive project experience in heavy civil environments.
• 5 years leading preconstruction or alternative delivery projects.
• Experience with highways, bridges, transit, water, aviation, or large infra projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead preconstruction teams on CMGC, CMAR, Design-Build, and Bid-Build projects.
• Manage project pursuit strategy and owner coordination.
• Direct estimate development, review, and validation.
• Lead value engineering and risk workshops.
• Facilitate design reviews and constructability assessments.
• Develop and maintain preconstruction schedules and milestone tracking.
• Coordinate operations, estimating, engineering, and project controls resources.
• Support GMP negotiations and owner presentations.
• Prepare executive-level reports on budget, schedule, and risk.
• Participate in project turnover to construction operations.
