Job summary

Trane Technologies in Rocky Hill, CT is seeking a Preconstruction Estimator to join our team. You will work with internal teams and customers to identify and develop turnkey HVAC contracting projects, including scope development, cost estimating, and proposal support.

The role requires a four-year degree in engineering or construction management, HVACR experience, and the ability to coordinate with subcontractors.

Qualifications

Four-year degree in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent experience.
Mechanical and HVACR knowledge and experience.
Experience with construction estimating, bidding, and procurement.
Understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems and HVACR operations.
Ability to coordinate with subcontractors to obtain quotes.
Willingness to work outside normal hours and travel as needed.
Valid driver's license with clean record.

Responsibilities

Evaluate mechanical and electrical systems and develop cost estimates.
Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, and subcontractors.
Develop project scope from designs for competitive bidding.
Compile vendor and subcontractor quotes and cost proposals.
Analyze plans and specifications to identify requirements.
Take-off quantities and price purchased equipment for accuracy.
Review bid documents and identify conflicts or constructability issues.
Support Account Managers in bidding and pricing strategies.
Collaborate with internal teams and customers to drive turnkey HVAC contracting projects.
