Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Senior Estimator with strong leadership in preconstruction for a Lexington, KY construction firm. The role covers estimating from scope through final bid, leading estimators, and guiding design-build opportunities while collaborating with Owners, Architects, subcontractors, and suppliers.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in construction estimating, excels at reading plans, and is proficient with Excel, MS Project, and Take-Off software.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of construction estimating experience with complex estimates and bids.
• Experience leading Estimators and preconstruction team members.
• Strong ability to review plans, specs, drawings to determine scope.
• Experience developing complete construction cost estimates and bids.
• Experience with design-build projects and refining scope and pricing.
• Experience with bid-day estimating and adjustments throughout the process.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
• Proficiency with On-Screen Take-Off or similar takeoff software.
• Ability to visualize 2D drawings in 3D and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Determine the complete scope and cost requirements for construction projects.
• Manage Estimators and/or preconstruction team members.
• Collaborate with preconstruction to establish project scope.
• Review plans, specs, drawings, and related documents.
• Develop and maintain overall construction cost estimates and bids.
• Collaborate to develop presentations and proposals.
• Review design options and recommend cost-effective solutions.
• Develop project schedules and associated costs.
• Adjust estimates on bid day as needed.
• Lead design-build teams in refining scope and pricing.
• Develop conceptual estimates from incomplete information.
• Lead bid opportunities and meetings with Owners and Architects.
• Maintain subcontractor and supplier relationships.
