Job summary

Gray Construction is seeking a Pre-Construction Services Manager for its Lexington, KY office. You will lead cost estimation, bid analysis, and subcontractor coordination to translate customer needs into actionable plans.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree or equivalent with 5+ years in estimating or related work, strong communication, and ability to deliver rapid, accurate preliminary estimates under tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or minimum five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must possess basic computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets and e-mail applications; may also require software applications specific to estimating.
• Energetic, self-motivated individual who enjoys a team environment, with a passion for collaboration and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Review data and drawings to determine material and labor requirements and prepare itemized cost estimates.
• Evaluate proposals to form bid analyses selecting subcontractors with cost and scope coverage.
• Compute cost factors and prepare estimates for planning, organizing, scheduling, bids, change orders, and subcontractor agreements.
• Develop and deliver presentations internally and externally with customers.
• Extract required information from customer data to develop a Request for Proposal.
