Job summary

System One is seeking a Probabilistic Risk Assessment Engineer in Bellevue, WA. The role focuses on PRA for reactor design, including fault trees, event trees, and radiological models, with a strong emphasis on regulatory compliance and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

You will develop and maintain PRA analyses, support licensing efforts, and communicate results to regulators and management, leveraging CAFTA, FRANX, SAPHIRE and related tools.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in a relevant engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of Probabilistic Risk Assessment experience.
• Knowledge of PRA principles and ASME/ANS Non-Light Water PRA.
• Experience with PRA software CAFTA, FRANX, SAPHIRE or similar.
• Experience with assessment codes such as GOTHIC, MELCOR, RADTRAD a plus.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform PRA and severe accident analysis for reactor design to regulatory standards.
• Develop PRA models including fault/event trees and radiological transport.
• Coordinate PRA with deterministic safety analysis and other disciplines.
• Provide guidance on reliability, risk metrics, and regulatory compliance to teams.
• Participate in PRA peer reviews, hazard analysis and PIRT exercises.
• Document PRA models and analysis results for regulators and internal reviews.
• Deliver presentations on PRA methods and results to management and customers.
• Utilize PRA software to perform risk assessments and interpret results.
