Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Senior Power Transformers Field Specialist 1 to lead and support on-site transformer services across North America. The role requires significant travel, 12-hour on-site days, and coordination with GE engineering and customer teams.

You will assist with installation, commissioning and maintenance, while ensuring safety and quality in all activities. This position is based around Humble/Houston TX with remote work possibilities and a guaranteed base salary plus overtime

Qualifications

• Travel up to 80% of the time.
• Two years of field experience with power transformers or related equipment.
• Associate's degree in Electrical/Mechanical with specialization in Power Transformer or HV/MV apparatus or Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Military or technical training background encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site transformer services including new unit installation, maintenance, and upgrades.
• Assist field leaders with on-site resources and subcontracted services.
• Attend daily tailboards with crews and customer resources to outline daily activities.
• Identify and report EHS/HSE concerns with scope.
• Operate and control vacuum processing rigs and equipment.
• Oversee field tests or commissioning of units as needed.
• Help develop and improve transformer service procedures.
