Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead design, validation, installation, and operation of protection and automation systems.

You will mentor engineers, develop proposals, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, customer-focused solutions. The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years in power systems, with travel up to 25%+.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in electric power systems engineering or related field.
• Strong knowledge of protection, control, automation, communications, and integration.
• Experience with power system design, studies, protective relays, and communications.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a team.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (min 25%).
• Background screening and drug testing successfully completed.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, configuration, validation, installation, commissioning, and operation of protection and automation systems.
• Serve as technical leader for projects, ensuring safety, on-time delivery, and budget alignment.
• Provide technical training and support to customers during implementation and operation.
• Develop proposals, project estimates, and customer solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify customer needs and craft engineering solutions.
• Mentor and develop engineers and other professionals; provide leadership when needed.
• Promote company values, excellence, and continuous improvement.
