Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC is seeking a Senior Power Systems Engineer to lead complex load flow, short circuit, and arc flash studies for electrical BOP systems across our renewable generation assets.

You will maintain ETAP models, work with PSSE/PSLF/TSAT/PSCAD, support NERC/regulatory compliance, mentor teammates, and travel 20–25% to sites. PE preferred; 7+ years of HV power system experience.

Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Engineering, or Physics.
• A Professional Engineer (PE) is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years in power systems engineering with focus on short circuit and arc flash studies.
• Experience with operating and analyzing high-voltage power systems equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform and review short circuit studies and arc flash hazard analyses for electrical systems.
• Approve study reports and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Prepare technical documentation including one-line diagrams and protection coordination.
• Develop and maintain ETAP models of electrical systems.
• Collaborate with project teams to validate inputs and data.
• Provide training and mentorship on electrical safety and power system analysis.
