Job summary

Generac Power Systems Inc is seeking a highly motivated electrical engineer to design low and medium voltage switchgear and control solutions for power generation projects. You will be the technical lead on projects, converting customer specs into robust electrical designs, schematics, and BOMs.

Responsibilities include interpreting drawings, creating wiring diagrams, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring compliance with NFPA, NEC, and UL standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related field required.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in electrical power and controls.
• Experience with low and medium voltage power systems design.

Responsibilities

• Interpret project write-ups, customer specifications, drawings, and correspondence.
• Develop detailed electrical designs for low & medium voltage switchgear & controls.
• Create AC and DC schematics, component layouts, wiring diagrams, and one-line diagrams.
• Research and create Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Coordinate with purchasing and suppliers to specify components.
• Ensure designs comply with NFPA, NEC, and UL codes.
• Provide engineering support to manufacturing and test teams.
• Conduct design reviews for accuracy and completeness.
• Learn and apply new technology relevant to projects.
