Job summary

Generac is seeking an experienced NPD Project Engineer IV to lead system integration across new product development programs for generator systems. You will guide cross-functional teams from concept to production, applying advanced mechanical or electrical engineering expertise to meet performance, cost, quality, and schedule goals.

Responsibilities include leading architecture and integration of mechanical/electrical subsystems, conducting design reviews, and mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 9 years of progressive engineering experience in new product development of complex electromechanical systems.
• Demonstrated experience with generator or power generation products with system-level integration.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical execution of new product development programs, serving as a system-level engineer for integration, design maturity, and on-time delivery.
• Architect, design, and integrate complex mechanical and electrical systems for generator and power generation products.
• Translate requirements into system- and component-level functional and performance requirements.
• Design, test, and integrate components; evaluate designs for cost, reliability, safety, and compliance.
• Drive design reviews and technical decision-making, mitigating risks through problem solving.
• Develop and execute testing and validation plans for complex generator systems.
• Use Creo to develop system layouts, designs, and detailed drawings.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, suppliers, and contract manufacturers to optimize manufacturability and quality.
