Job summary

GRENZEBACH is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in Beachwood, OH to lead the analysis, design, and optimization of electrical distribution systems for industrial and commercial applications.

The role emphasizes developing schematics for low-voltage power distribution, creating comprehensive design packages, selecting components, and coordinating with mechanical teams to ensure seamless integration and compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in power systems engineering for industrial or commercial applications.
• Strong understanding of power system theory including generation, transmission, distribution, and utilization.
• Ability to perform short-circuit calculations and protective device coordination is a plus.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, EPlan, and MS Office.
• Familiarity with UL1558, UL891, UL67, UL845, UL508A standards.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently.

Responsibilities

• Develop and design electrical schematics for low-voltage power distribution systems.
• Create design packages with elevations, layouts, BOMs, and submittals for switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, and MCCs.
• Specify and select components (controls, transformers, circuit breakers, protective relays) from one-line diagrams and specs.
• Utilize COMPAS, SE Advantage, Bid Manager, and Empower to select correct components and breakers.
• Design and implement complex control and protection schemes per customer specs.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers to integrate power systems into equipment designs.
• Perform factory inspections to verify conformance with drawings and specs.
• Stay current with power system trends including renewables and microgrids.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation to support projects.
