Job summary

Grenzebach Hellas in Beachwood, OH, seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Power & Energy unit. You will analyze, design, and optimize electrical distribution systems, including switchgear, switchboards, and panelboards, ensuring reliability and safe operation.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
5+ years of power systems engineering experience in industrial or commercial applications.
Strong understanding of power system theory, including generation, transmission, distribution, and utilization.
Proficient with AutoCAD, MS Office and EPlan.
Familiarity with UL1558, UL891, UL67, UL845, UL508A.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
Detail-oriented and quality-focused.
Experience with short-circuit calculations and protective device coordination a plus.
Experience with PSCAD, PSS/E, or ETAP beneficial.

Responsibilities

Develop and design electrical schematics for low-voltage power distribution systems.
Create design packages including elevation drawings, layouts, BOMs, and submittals for switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, and MCCs.
Specify and select electrical components such as controls, transformers, circuit breakers, and protective relays.
Utilize design software including Siemens COMPAS, Schneider SE Advantage, Eaton Bid Manager, and ABB Empower to select components and breakers.
Design and implement complex control and protection schemes tailored to customer specs.
Collaborate with mechanical engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of power systems into equipment designs.
Perform factory inspections of assembled equipment to verify compliance with drawings and specs.
Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in power systems, including renewables and microgrids.
Prepare technical reports and documentation to support project development and execution.
Work with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders to ensure project outcomes.
