Job summary

Peak Demand is seeking a Senior Power Systems Engineer, Resource Integration to lead grid planning and interconnection studies across renewable and conventional generation. This hybrid role blends hands-on analysis with project leadership, client engagement, and technical mentorship, with three days per week in an office or at a client location.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, 5+ years of power systems experience, and proficiency with PSS/E,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering required.
• 5+ years of power systems and renewable energy experience preferred.
• Experience with transmission and/or distribution planning, including resource interconnection.
• Hands-on experience with power system analysis tools like PSS/E, TARA, PSLF, PowerWorld, PSCAD.
• Knowledge of ISO/RTO markets, generator interconnection processes, and NERC standards.
• Experience managing technical projects, schedules, budgets, and client deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Lead power flow, transient stability, short-circuit, EMT, harmonics studies.
• Develop and evaluate steady-state, dynamic, short-circuit models for renewables and conventional generation.
• Perform generator interconnection studies including feasibility and deliverability assessments.
• Apply expertise in transmission and distribution planning and modeling.
• Lead technical troubleshooting, scripting, and process improvements for studies.
• Mentor engineers and manage project schedules, budgets, and client deliverables.
