Job summary

GridSME is seeking a Power Systems Engineer to lead transmission planning and generator interconnection studies for utilities and renewable projects across the United States. You will develop system models, perform studies, and collaborate with clients and GridSME teams to ensure regulatory compliance and project success.

The role requires strong experience in PSSE/PSLF/PSCAD, knowledge of NERC standards, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with Transmission Planning and Generator Interconnection studies across ISOs/RTOs and utilities in the United States.
• Experience with generation interconnection studies for renewable resources and energy storage.
• Experience performing simulations and studies for long-term transmission planning including contingency analysis and NERC compliance reporting.
• Ability to develop electrical system single-line diagrams and site layouts.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical details in support of Interconnection Requests.
• Develop preliminary Single-Line Diagrams for developers’ projects.
• Lead auxiliary services for Interconnection Requests with system studies and data interpretation.
• Use power flow tools to support generator model validation and reliability assessments.
• Manage and lead client projects and coordinate with GridSME team.
