Job summary

Axiom Global Technologies in Houston, TX seeks a Senior Power Systems Engineer to lead grid integration and interconnection studies for wind, solar, and BESS projects. You will analyze dynamic stability, EMT and RMS models, and ensure compliance with IEEE 2800, NERC, and FERC requirements.

You will collaborate with utilities, ISOs/RTOs and project stakeholders, develop technical reports, and mentor junior engineers in a fast-paced energy market.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Power Systems Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with PSCAD, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, and EMTP.
• Experience with renewable energy projects (Wind, Solar, BESS).

Responsibilities

• Perform power system studies and utility interconnection analyses.
• Conduct System Impact Studies (SIS), transient stability, short-circuit, and dynamic studies.
• Develop and validate EMT and RMS simulation models.
• Perform PSCAD, PSS/E, PowerFactory, and EMTP studies.
• Support renewable energy integration projects (Wind, Solar, and BESS).
• Evaluate compliance with IEEE 2800, NERC Standards, and FERC requirements.
• Collaborate with utilities, ISOs/RTOs, and project stakeholders.
• Prepare engineering reports, technical documentation, and regulatory compliance packages.
• Support grid code compliance, weak-grid analysis, and inverter-based resource (IBR) performance.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.
