Job summary

ON.energy is seeking a Senior Power Systems Modeling Engineer to own EMT and dynamic modeling, validation, and grid performance assessment for its energy-storage systems. The role interfaces with R&D, Controls, Test, Product, and project teams, including utilities and ISOs.

You will drive modeling standards, perform validation against hardware, and support interconnection studies and large-load applications across global deployments.

Qualifications

• Masters or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 5–8 years of advanced power systems modeling experience, including EMT, RMS, dynamic modeling, inverter-based resources, BESS, large loads or transmission-connected facilities.
• Experience with EMT, RMS, dynamic modeling, inverter-based resources, and large-scale interconnection studies.

Responsibilities

• Define modeling standards and governance across EMT, RMS, transient, steady-state, HIL, and real-time simulations.
• Own model lifecycle management, ensuring alignment with hardware, firmware, and plant configurations.
• Lead technical execution for interconnection studies, product qualification, and grid requirement evaluations.
• Mentor engineers and coordinate with external consultants, utilities, ISOs, and stakeholders.
