Job summary

GE Vernova in Houston seeks a Sr Systems Architect to shape architectures for power generation and electrification projects. You will lead multi‑discipline teams, define system requirements, and drive verification plans from concept to commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Power Systems, or related engineering field.
• 12+ years in power generation, electric utility systems, EPC projects, or related electrical infrastructure functions.
• 7+ years in engineering with 3+ years leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering high-value technical solutions.
• 5+ years presenting technical solutions to executive leadership, utility reps, EPC contractors, and regulators.
• 5+ years managing complex technical initiatives with at least 3 large-scale projects as lead or PM.
• 7+ years with utility-scale power generation systems, transmission & distribution equipment, and grid interconnection requirements.
• 5+ years applying and interpreting IEEE, ANSI, IEC, NERC, FERC, and NFPA standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and govern integrated power generation system architectures from terminals through transmission interconnection facilities.
• Lead technical definition and integration of power generation assets (gas turbines, GSUs, substations, protective systems, BESS).
• Establish system requirements, baselines, interfaces, and design standards for complex projects.
• Define solution validation strategies, verification plans, FAT/SAT, and commissioning milestones.
• Coordinate cross-disciplinary activities to maximize uptime, resilience, and performance.
• Review power system studies (load flow, short circuit, grounding, protection) to validate performance.
• Translate customer requirements into architecture and design requirements.
• Lead risk, interface management, and integration planning throughout lifecycle stages.
• Coordinate across GE Vernova units for technical alignment and reviews.
• Support business development with scopes, risk assessments, and proposal support.
• Develop reference architectures for data centers, industrial facilities, microgrids, and hybrid plants.
• Lead customer workshops and executive-level architecture reviews with recommendations.
