Job summary

Vantage Point Solutions seeks a Senior Power Generation Engineer to guide the growth and technical excellence of the power generation practice. You will lead projects, mentor engineers, engage with utility clients, and support business development while ensuring high-quality deliverables.

Responsibilities include strategic leadership, design oversight, and maintaining compliance with safety codes and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of electrical power systems including generation, transmission, substation design, and protection and control systems.
• Specialization in control systems is preferred.
• Experience with coal-fired and natural gas power generation plants.
• Experience using industry-standard engineering design software.
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience working with electric utilities or electric cooperatives is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and oversight for complex power generation projects.
• Mentor and coordinate engineering staff and lift project delivery quality.
• Engage with clients, secure new work, and support business development.
• Serve as Engineer of Record (EOR) when required and ensure compliance with NEC, NESC, NFPA, ISO, OSHA, etc.
• Oversee projects to ensure on-time delivery and adherence to budget.
