Job summary

GE Vernova seeks a Sr Systems Architect to shape electrical system architectures for power generation and industrial electrification projects. You will lead cross-functional teams across engineering disciplines, define requirements, and drive validation plans from concept through commissioning to ensure high uptime and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
• 12+ years in power generation, utility systems, EPC, or related electrical infrastructure.
• 7+ years engineering with at least 3 years in leadership overseeing multidisciplinary teams.
• 5+ years presenting technical solutions to executive leadership and utility/regulatory stakeholders.
• 5+ years managing complex technical initiatives and large-scale projects.
• 7+ years experience with utility-scale power generation systems and grid interconnection.
• 5+ years experience with system requirements, interface control, and V&V processes.
• 5+ years applying IEEE, ANSI, IEC, NERC, FERC, NFPA standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and govern integrated power generation system architectures from terminals to interconnection facilities.
• Lead inside-the-fence-line assets including turbines, GSUs, HV/LV gear, substations, protection, and BESS.
• Establish system requirements, architecture baselines, interfaces, and design standards for complex projects.
• Define solution validation strategies, verification plans, FAT/SAT, and performance criteria.
• Coordinate equipment and system integration across engineering disciplines to maximize uptime.
• Review power system studies including load flow, short circuit, grounding, and protection coordination.
• Translate customer requirements into architecture and design requirements.
• Lead risk identification, interface management, and integration planning throughout lifecycle stages.
• Serve as primary technical coordinator across GE Vernova business units.
• Support business development with scope evaluation and solution architectures.
• Develop reference architectures for data centers, microgrids, and industrial facilities.
• Lead customer workshops and architecture reviews with executive-level recommendations.
• Support commissioning activities to ensure performance objectives are met.
• Provide mentorship and advance systems engineering best practices.
