Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Senior Electrical Protection Engineer to lead protection studies and relay settings for HV/EHV substations, generators, transformers, and motors. The role offers a hybrid schedule with a mix of on-site and remote work in the U.S.

and requires extensive experience in power system protection. The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s in electrical engineering (master’s/PhD preferred) with 7+ years’ related experience and proficiency in protection software such as ETAP,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; Power Systems focus.
• 7+ years with power system protection.
• Experience with microprocessor relays (SEL, Beckwith, GE, ABB).
• Experience with relay software (SEL AcSELerator, GE Enervista).
• Protection studies for generators, transformers, motors.
• HV/EHV substation and line relaying experience.
• LV breaker protection.
• Experience with ETAP, SKM, and Aspen.
• Experience with NERC PRC compliance evaluations.

Responsibilities

• Performing protection system calculations and analysis to support a wide variety of clients.
• Develop relay settings associated with HV/EHV Substation and Transmission Lines.
• Develop relay settings for Power Station Generators, Transformers, Motors and Medium Voltage and Low Voltage protection devices.
• Aiding clients to comply with NERC PRC standards.
• Relaying Event Report analysis
