Job summary

Elia Grid International (EGI) is seeking a Senior Power System Planning Expert to lead advanced system studies and planning assessments in the U.S. You will guide planning methodologies, validate models, and translate results into actionable recommendations for interconnection, HVDC/HVAC, and grid modernization projects.

The role requires 10+ years in power system planning, fluency in English, and capability to work across stakeholders including utilities and ISOs/RTOs.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years in power system planning, transmission studies, or related areas.
• Strong knowledge of steady-state and dynamic power system analysis.
• Experience with U.S. ISO/RTO processes and interconnection studies.

Responsibilities

• Lead power system planning studies for major transmission projects in the U.S.
• Define and validate power system models, study assumptions and scenarios.
• Prepare high-quality technical reports and executive summaries.
• Interact with utilities, ISOs/RTOs, and stakeholders to present study outcomes and defend recommendations.
• Translate planning conclusions into technical requirements and project implications.
