Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Boca-Delray, Florida office is seeking a Power Studies Engineer with 6+ years of experience to join the Electrical Renewable Energy team. You will serve as a technical expert in the design, analysis, and optimization of electrical power systems for power delivery and generation projects.

The position requires strong analytical skills, experience with selected software tools (ETAP, SKM, PSS/E, PSCAD, CYMCAP, WinIGS, CDEGS), and the ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience as an Electrical Engineer at an engineering firm or EPC.
• 1+ years project management experience.
• PE certification or path toward certification preferred.
• Experience with CYMCAP, SKM, ETAP, EMTP-RV, PSS/E, PSCAD, WinIGS, or CDEGS.
• Familiar with NEC 2020 and IEEE standards; knowledge of emerging technologies.
• CAD proficiency (AutoCAD) and MS Office.
• Ability to manage multiple project teams concurrently.
• Ability to work independently or in a team; fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze systems, build software models, and write reports for power delivery or generation projects.
• Assist with project design, specifications, and plans support.
• Review work to ensure compliance with Kimley-Horn quality standards.
• Develop calculations and drawings for power delivery and renewable energy projects.
• Continuously update knowledge of industry trends.
