Job summary

Canadian Solar is seeking a Sr. Technical Solutions Engineer - Power Technology to support development, evaluation, and integration of utility-scale energy storage systems and power solutions, focusing on PCS, EMS, MVT, microgrid, and gas turbine applications.

The role requires a systems-level understanding of electrical power, power electronics, and controls, with hands-on experience in design verification, testing, and cross-functional collaboration across global teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in engineering/R&D/project commissioning in power electronics or energy storage.
• Direct experience in inverter product development or energy storage projects preferred.
• Strong knowledge of power systems, transformers, MV equipment, and grid interconnection requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct technical due diligence on inverter, EMS, MVT, and related products to ensure performance and compliance.
• Develop internal tools for system modeling, sizing, and validation.
• Lead cross-functional discussions to define electrical interfaces between subsystems.
• Coordinate supplier evaluations and transfer product knowledge to internal teams.
• Support engineering and project teams with technical documentation and audits.
