Job summary

Canadian Solar SSES (Canada) Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to drive utility-scale battery energy storage projects in North America. You will lead engineering from design through commissioning, acting as the main technical contact with internal teams, consultants, suppliers, and EPC partners.

Up to 25% travel within Canada and the United States is required. The role requires strong electrical engineering expertise, practical judgment, and the ability to coordinate diverse stakeholders

Qualifications

• Electrical engineering degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in project or systems engineering for energy projects.
• Knowledge of low- and medium-voltage systems and standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee technical execution from design through commissioning.
• Serve as primary technical contact for requests and coordination.
• Manage scope, schedules, stakeholders and deliverables.
• Develop technical specs and support vendor reviews.
• Support procurement by preparing technical requirements and Q&A logs.
• Coordinate external engineers and lead design-review meetings.
• Review supplier designs and documents to close gaps.
• Coordinate electrical, civil, and mechanical interfaces.
• Verify FAT procedures and site construction alignment.
