Job summary

Canadian Solar SSES (Canada) Inc. is seeking a Senior Technical Solutions Engineer to support development, evaluation, and integration of utility-scale energy storage systems and related power solutions.

You will focus on PCS, EMS, MVT, microgrid, and gas turbine applications, collaborating with R&D and global teams. Remote role across Canada or the USA; strong background in power electronics, controls, and system integration is required, with emphasis on technical due diligence and solution

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, power systems, controls engineering or related discipline; postgraduate degree preferred.
Minimum 5 years in engineering, R&D, or project commissioning in power electronics, energy storage, microgrids or related industries.
Direct experience in inverter product development, control systems, or energy storage project commissioning preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform technical due diligence on inverter, EMS, MVT and related power-system products to ensure performance, safety and compliance.
Develop and maintain internal tools for system sizing, product design, and project evaluation; support platform roadmap alignment.
Lead technical evaluation of specifications, drawings, certifications, test reports, and integration requirements for internal and external products.
Support independent engineer reviews and customer-led due diligence with documentation and liaison work.
Monitor standards, grid codes, electrical requirements and communication protocols for inverter, EMS, MVT, microgrid and energy-storage solutions.
