Job summary

Emerson in Cranberry Township, PA (Greater Pittsburgh area) seeks a Senior Controls Engineer to design and deliver Ovation DCS-based power retrofit projects across North America. You will work with senior engineers, PMs, customers, and A/E firms to ensure safe, high-quality solutions and timely delivery.

The role emphasizes hands-on design, FAT, commissioning, and ongoing engineering development, with relocation support and travel up to 20% to North American sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5–7 years of engineering experience, preferably in power generation or industrial environments.
• Experience designing, implementing, or supporting control systems using DCS and/or PLC platforms.
• Ability to be based in the Greater Pittsburgh area or relocate, with willingness to travel up to 20% within North America.
• Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the application design and engineering execution of power retrofit projects.
• Develop high-quality engineering deliverables that meet customer requirements for safety, quality, schedule, and performance.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, project managers, customers, and A/E firms to support system design and technical alignment.
• Participate in Design Review Meetings, FAT, and onsite system commissioning activities.
• Support development and tracking of engineering plans and project documentation.
• Assist with identifying and resolving technical issues, escalating as appropriate.
• Apply and follow established engineering standards, tools, and best practices.
• Support customer presentations and proposal development as needed.
