Job summary

Emerson is seeking an engineering professional early in their career to join the Power Retrofit Projects group in Cranberry Township, PA. You will work on automated control system solutions for power plants using Ovation DCS and participate in the full project lifecycle including design, testing, and commissioning.

You will collaborate with experienced engineers and leaders, gaining hands-on experience across engineering disciplines and exposure to North America-wide projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of related engineering experience.
• Ability to travel up to 20% within North America.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about automation, controls, or adjacent engineering disciplines and wants hands on experience working on real world projects that support critical infrastructure across North America.

You will join the Power Retrofit Projects group, which delivers fully engineered control system solutions for power plants using Emerson’s best in class Ovation Distributed Control System (DCS). The team supports the full project lifecycle—including engineering design, system integration, testing, and commissioning—providing a strong foundation for building technical depth, industry knowledge, and long term career growth.

For This Role, You Will Need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or combination of education and equivalent experience
• 2+ years of related experience in an engineering environment
• Ability to travel up to 20% within North America

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering
• Experience designing or programming controls for Distributed Controls Systems (DCS) and/or Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) platforms
• Exposure to automation, industrial controls, or adjacent engineering fields
• Familiarity with boiler control, burner management systems, or NFPA85 guidelines
