Job summary

Idaho National Laboratory is seeking a Senior Power Platform & Automation Engineer within HR's Product Experience & Insights team. You will design and deploy PowerApps, Power Automate workflows, and Power BI dashboards, mentoring junior engineers and guiding end-to-end solutions from discovery through delivery.

You will pair AI engineering with the Microsoft Power Platform, building scalable HR tools, automations, and analytics, and you may explore Django/Flask or .NET when needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 9+ years building production solutions on the Microsoft Power Platform or equivalent
• Demonstrated experience leading stakeholder discovery and requirements elicitation independently
• Proficiency in DAX for Power BI measures and data modeling
• Experience delivering work in short iterative cycles (agile, Scrum, Kanban) and mentoring juniors

Responsibilities

• Mentor junior automation engineers and others in best practices
• Design and build PowerApps and Power Automate workflows integrated with SharePoint and HR systems
• Develop Power BI dashboards and reports for HR stakeholders from specialist to executive levels
• Apply AI, generative AI, and agentic automation (e.g., Copilot Studio, Claude) to real HR workflows
• Collaborate with UX designers and IT for data connectors, documentation, and end-to-end ownership of solutions
