Job summary

Battelle Energy Alliance (INL) is seeking a Senior Power Platform & Automation Engineer to join HR's Product Experience & Insights team. You will design and build PowerApps, Power Automate workflows, Power BI dashboards, and AI-powered solutions to streamline HR processes, mentoring peers and owning solutions end-to-end from discovery to delivery and ongoing support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 9+ years of experience building production solutions on the Microsoft Power Platform or equivalent low‑code/full‑stack development experience.
• Genuinely personable, customer-facing, and able to be the face of a solution from discovery through delivery and support.
• Demonstrated experience leading stakeholder discovery and requirements elicitation independently.
• Proficiency in DAX and building data models within Power BI.
• Experience with observational research methods to validate what people do against what they say.
• Document requirements, processes, and user stories clearly for future team members.
• Experience delivering work in short, iterative cycles with stakeholder check-ins (agile, Scrum or Kanban).
• Hands-on experience applying generative AI, prompt engineering, or agentic automation to real workflows.
• Proficiency in Python for automation and data manipulation; working knowledge of SQL and exposing Power Platform solutions via APIs.

Responsibilities

• Meet face-to-face to observe how work actually happens and capture insights.
• Elicit and document requirements via interviews and workshops.
• Wireframe and prototype early using tools like Lucid or Figma.
• Design and build PowerApps as well as automated Power Automate workflows.
• Develop Power BI dashboards and reports for various audiences.
• Apply AI and agentic automation to real business workflows.
• Own solution delivery end-to-end and maintain documentation.
• Mentor junior automation engineers and teammates.
