Job summary

Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Power Platform & Automation Engineer to join HR's Product Experience & Insights team, delivering PowerApps, Power Automate workflows, and Power BI dashboards. You will collaborate with HR stakeholders to translate needs into scalable, automated solutions and assess when a new system is the right fix.

You will pair AI engineering with the Microsoft Power Platform, building apps, automations, and dashboards that streamline HR processes and drive measurable

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field or equivalent experience
• Experience building production solutions on the Microsoft Power Platform (PowerApps, Power Automate, Power BI)
• Proficiency with SQL and Python for data models and automation
• Familiarity with AI and prompt engineering concepts and tools
• Experience collaborating with HR or business stakeholders to elicit requirements
• Awareness of enterprise HR systems (HRIS, ATS) preferred

Responsibilities

• Design and build PowerApps embedded in SharePoint sites for HR teams and employees
• Develop automated workflows and RPA solutions in Power Automate
• Build Power BI dashboards and reports for multiple leadership audiences
• Apply AI and prompt engineering with tools like Copilot Studio, Claude, or similar
• Prototype and iterate using low-code and traditional development when needed
• Partner with UX designer to ensure modern, polished user experiences
