Job summary

New York Power Authority seeks an experienced maintenance leader to manage daily operations across plant and facility maintenance. You will supervise crafts, coordinate work, and ensure safety, quality, and reliable equipment performance in line with budgets and strategic goals.

You will implement asset management policies, review job packages, and develop planning and scheduling for preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance. Strong leadership and budgeting skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or Associate's degree in a related industry.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Completed a recognized apprenticeship training program or have equivalent experience.
• 10 years of experience in applicable field.
• Experience supervising craft personnel preferred.
• Possess a valid driver's license and be able to operate motor vehicles in locations consistent with their job duties.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision of maintenance department(s); prepare and monitor day‑to‑day work activities of the crafts; oversee safety and labor relations for the department.
• Implement MRM and Asset Management policies and procedures; ensure maintenance is performed as planned and scheduled.
• Provide input to planning, scheduling and evaluation of preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance; ensure work is performed according to priority levels.
• Provide input and justification for the annual departmental budget for maintenance requirements.
• Identify and develop future skill requirements through training and job enrichment for departmental employees.
• Analyze and recommend solutions for maintenance and construction problems to engineering staff.
• Ensure crews perform quality work safely and efficiently; develop subordinates and manage discipline and labor relations.
• Manage employees including performance management, salary administration, succession planning and workload balancing.
