Job summary

New York Power Authority (NYPA) seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead reliability programs, design reviews, and maintenance activities across SENY turbines and HRSG units. You will conduct thermal performance analyses, vibration studies, and RCA investigations, guiding technical decisions and ensuring safety, cost, and performance targets are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of eight (8+) years of work-related experience.
• New York State Engineer in Training certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide lead engineering support for design modifications, equipment applications, and maintenance activities.
• Perform field condition assessments and develop technical recommendations.
• Lead reliability programs for SENY fleet including turbines and HRSG inspections.
• Coordinate cross-disciplinary activities and manage project scopes and schedules.
