Job summary

New York Power Authority (NYPA) seeks an experienced Operations leader to oversee daily management and coordination of asset operations. You will lead budgets, investments in infrastructure, and risk-aware project selection across the regional asset portfolio.

You will guide multi-disciplinary teams, implement advanced digital systems, and drive effective performance management while aligning with NYPA policies and regional objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 7 years in electric utility power plant operations or related industry.
• Experience leading multi-department or multi-site projects.
• 3+ years managing teams; 5 years supervisory with union staff preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop employees including performance management and salary administration.
• Support bargaining unit agreements and labor relations activities.
• Develop short-, mid-, and long-term plans in the Regional Asset Management Plan.
• Prepare and submit administrative, operating, maintenance, O&M and capital budgets.
• Identify and initiate strategic asset improvement projects.
• Lead use of digital systems Maximo, APM, DataSplice, GADS.
• Provide site support for execution of capital planning.
• Report status of operations/maintenance to senior management.
• Plan for contingencies during weather events and emergencies.
