Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Tampa, FL is seeking a senior Civil Engineer to join a multi-disciplinary team. You will contribute to design, modification, and analysis of power plant facilities, substations, and heavy industrial sites, with a focus on site development and mass earthwork. The role requires a B.S.

in Civil Engineering, a PE license, and 10+ years in project teams. Occasional travel is possible; hybrid schedule with three in-office days per week.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• PE license required; Florida preferred but other states acceptable.
• 10+ years in project teams for heavy industrial design, preferably power plants, with site grading and earthwork experience.
• Experience in writing technical reports, calculations and specifications.
• Experience obtaining site permits from regulatory agencies.
• Proficiency with AutoDesk Civil 3D, StormCad, PondPack, and AutoTurn; MS Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; team collaboration essential.

Responsibilities

• Design civil site development for power plant projects; create calculations, designs, and specs.
• Coordinate with project managers, clients, contractors, and regulators to ensure timely design.
• Direct civil engineers/designers on project work as scope allows.
• Prepare storm drainage, sanitary sewer, road/track designs, and earthwork considerations.
• Review submittals for conformity with technical specs.
• May travel to client offices or plant sites for reviews and field verification.
