Job summary

Estes-Express-Lines is seeking a diesel mechanic to perform repairs and preventive maintenance on diesel engines, trucks, and forklifts. You will inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and service equipment, ensuring compliance with FMCSA and safety regulations.

The role requires reading manuals, interpreting work orders, and replacing defective parts. You must be able to lift heavy loads, work flexible shifts, and thrive in a high-volume environment with teamwork and safety focus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent background.
• Must be 17+ years of age.
• One year of experience and/or trade school; or equivalent education/experience.
• Able to use hand tools and test equipment; must have own tools.
• Know general repairs and PM criteria; heavy truck repairs knowledge.
• Diesel engine system diagnostics and maintenance.
• Able to adapt to changing technology and updates.
• Strong work ethic and problem solving abilities.
• Willing to work varying shifts, nights, weekends in any weather; flexible schedule.
• Lift approx. 70 lbs. and work with heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Repair and perform preventive maintenance on diesel engines, trucks, and forklifts.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose and maintain equipment.
• Conduct safety inspections and prepare FMCSA/compliance documents.
• Interpret work orders and manuals; replace defective parts.
• Test repaired equipment against specs and regulations.
• Maintain attendance and perform other duties as required.
