Job summary

Baringa is seeking an experienced Energy Products consultant to join North America practice, focusing on power market modeling and analytics. You will develop market outlooks, design models, and translate client needs into actionable plans for developers, utilities, and investors.

You will lead modeling workstreams, maintain datasets, and present findings to senior stakeholders, contributing to global offerings and thought leadership in energy analytics.

Qualifications

• 3-6 years of experience in power market modeling or related fields.
• Strong knowledge of wholesale power markets and fundamentals.
• Experience with production cost modeling tools such as PLEXOS, PROMOD, AURORA, GridView, or similar.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, Excel, and large-scale data analysis; reproducible workflows.
• Ability to present technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain North American power market outlooks and data-driven insights.
• Lead power market modeling workstreams, including scenario design and QA/QC.
• Translate client needs into actionable workplans with leadership teams.
• Build and maintain modeling datasets, workflows, and automation processes.
• Analyze market fundamentals and policy impacts for investment decisions.
• Convert model outputs into client-ready presentations and reports.
• Present findings and risks to clients and senior stakeholders.
• Contribute to global Energy Products offerings and thought leadership.
