Job summary

LVI Associates is seeking a Senior Power Generation Engineer to lead utility-scale generation projects for electric utilities and cooperatives in the United States. You will serve as a trusted advisor, oversee design, and drive client-focused solutions from concept through commissioning.

Qualified candidates bring 10+ years in power systems, a PE license, and a proven track record managing complex projects, with experience in coal and/or natural gas facilities and grid modernization initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• PE license required.
• 10+ years of experience in power systems or power generation engineering.
• Experience supporting electric utilities, electric cooperatives, or utility consulting clients.
• Experience with coal-fired and/or natural gas generation facilities.
• Demonstrated project leadership and client management experience.
• Strong understanding of power generation, transmission, substations, and protection & controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering and design activities for power generation projects.
• Provide technical oversight for studies, designs, specifications, and project deliverables.
• Manage projects through planning, design, construction support, and commissioning.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for utility and cooperative clients.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across project teams.
• Support proposal development, project scoping, and business development initiatives.
• Serve as Engineer of Record (EOR) when required.
• Support projects involving conventional generation, grid modernization, renewable integration, and emerging energy technologies.
