Job summary

General Motors in Warren, MI is seeking a Hardware Design & PCB Layout Engineer focused on advanced power electronics for electric vehicles. You will lead development of inverter hardware and collaborate with engineering, suppliers, and manufacturing to hit cost, performance, efficiency, and timing targets.

The role requires PI/SI, HV PCB practices, EMI/EMC design, and hands-on testing. Hybrid work with 3 days per week onsite at Warren; relocation benefits may be offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Minimum 5 years of hardware design, PCB layout or power electronics development.
• Experience with schematic capture, PCB layout, simulation and engineering documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of next-generation inverter and power electronics hardware for EVs.
• Perform EMI/EMC design including CISPR 25 requirements and high-voltage PCB practices.
• Coordinate PCB design with power modules, busbars, gate drivers, thermal interfaces, and packaging.
• Perform DRC/DFM/ DFA reviews and ensure manufacturability and reliability.
• Collaborate with hardware designers, systems engineers, ECAD and manufacturing teams.
• Lead advanced technology development including design, analysis, simulation, validation and testing.
